What makes the Feed Camera different from a traditional action camera?

Traditional action cameras are usually designed as self-contained devices, with a built-in battery, screen, enclosure, and other integrated features. This makes them convenient for general outdoor recording, but it also adds size and weight.

RunCam Feed Camera takes a different approach. It keeps the camera body lightweight and compact, works with common mounting accessories, and uses an external USB power source instead of relying on a large internal battery.

There is always a trade-off between size, weight, battery capacity, and recording time. It is difficult for one camera to be lightweight, budget-friendly, and capable of very long standalone recording at the same time.

By moving the main power source outside the camera, the Feed Camera helps reduce the weight and pressure carried on the head or body while still allowing extended recording with a power bank or external battery pack.

This makes it particularly practical for long-duration POV recording, field observation, workflow documentation, and data-collection scenarios where wearing comfort and continuous operation may matter more than having a fully integrated action-camera body.

If you mainly need a self-contained camera for short outdoor clips, a traditional action camera may be more convenient. If you prioritize low weight, flexible mounting, and longer recording with external power, the Feed Camera may be a better fit.
